"Girl with a Book" is an atmospheric piece from 2026, in which Ola Szmida uses gouache to build a composition saturated with color and tranquility. OLA SZMIDA
Director, illustrator, and cartoonist. Born in 1987 in Myszków. She studied animated film at the University of the Arts in Poznań, and subsequently held a scholarship at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne.
For her work, she has received, among others, the City of Warsaw Literary Award in the comics category, and a documentary film for which she directed the animation was included on the prestigious Op-Docs list by The New York Times.
To date, she has collaborated with brands and institutions including: BBC, Ermenegildo Zegna, Boiler Room, Southbank Centre, Rookie Mag, Vice Magazine, and Disney Poland.
