Monika Stolarska’s 2025 painting “Holy Mountain” is a monumental oil composition in which the artist focuses on a monumental, symbolic depiction of a mountain motif. The 90 x 70 cm canvas is dominated by a towering, rocky ridge bathed in cool violet-blue light, standing out against a deep, dark brown and burgundy background. Parts of the slopes are dotted with dark, irregular forms resembling exposed rock scree. The work is characterized by a stark, atmospheric palette and a striking form that lends the interior a sense of sacred tranquillity and strength. The work is signed by the artist.

MONIKA STOLARSKA
Born in 1986 in Warsaw, where she currently lives and works. Between 2005 and 2011, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She earned her Master’s degree with a dean's distinction from the Faculty of Painting in the studio of Prof. Wiesław Szamborski, with an additional specialization in the Studio of Art in Public Space under Prof. Mirosław Duchowski.
Since completing her studies, she has combined her own artistic practice with teaching. A key point of reference for her is nature – its rhythm and the way it affects human beings. On the other hand, she draws inspiration from neoplasticism and suprematism, which she considers an ever-relevant source of artistic inquiry.
In her work, she combines biomorphism and organic forms with the mysticism of non-objective painting, building her own unique language of visual expression.
