“Self-Interpenetration II” by Monika Stolarska is a 2024 canvasin which the artist explores the motif of a sculptural, organic form looping through space. At the center of the composition is a smooth, interwoven object resembling a Möbius strip or a stone architectural element with subtle dove-gray chiaroscuro. It is surrounded by a background outlined with vertical, plant-like bands and sandy layers in the lower part of the painting. The use of cool grays, lightened sepias, and pastel ochre gives the work a meditative character. This collectible painting would look great above a sofa in a spacious interior or as a subdued counterpoint to raw finishing materials. The work is signed by the artist.

MONIKA STOLARSKA
Born in 1986 in Warsaw, where she currently lives and works. Between 2005 and 2011, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She earned her Master’s degree with a dean's distinction from the Faculty of Painting in the studio of Prof. Wiesław Szamborski, with an additional specialization in the Studio of Art in Public Space under Prof. Mirosław Duchowski.
Since completing her studies, she has combined her own artistic practice with teaching. A key point of reference for her is nature – its rhythm and the way it affects human beings. On the other hand, she draws inspiration from neoplasticism and suprematism, which she considers an ever-relevant source of artistic inquiry.
In her work, she combines biomorphism and organic forms with the mysticism of non-objective painting, building her own unique language of visual expression.
