"All the virgin eyes of this world are made of glass" is a unique 2023 pen drawing by Karolina Lubaszko in A5 format. The artist organizes the composition into a dense, coffered grid filled with motifs of eyes, torsos, architectural apertures, and body fragments. The contrast between black ink and white paper, along with the inscription along the bottom edge, gives the work the character of a surrealist drawing note. KAROLINA LUBASZKO
Illustrator and graphic designer specializing in posters, zines, collages, and editorial design. Born in 1994 in Biała Podlaska, she is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Her work shows strong influences from the aesthetics of the 1950s and 60s, as well as inspiration from vintage postage stamps and packaging with bold shapes and saturated colors.
All of her works are created using analog techniques first, and only undergo digital processing in the later stages. This manual initial creative process allows for a controlled randomness that often gives her work a unique character.
She has participated in numerous projects and exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including in Luxembourg, Berlin, Potsdam, Skopje, and Prague.
